A Disgusting Post. Don't Read It. You've Been Warned.
It's about instincts. It's about children who are not quite housebroken. It's about prunes. You Have Been Warned.

So, anyway, after going to bed way too late last night, at 5:00am this morning, barely three hours into sleep, Kouryou-chan's honest cries come ripping through my consciousness and jerking me awake. Anyone who says human beings don't have instincts, and that men don't have familial instincts, has never had a kid. There are circuits in my brain that, at the deepest of sleeps, are paying attention to the outside world and are fully ready to pull the switch and tell me: Wake up. Now..

So I stumble out of bed and into the changing room, where Omaha is dealing with the most horrible bowel movement ever to extrude from a child. Apparently, she was not awake either when she chose to try and change Kouryou-chan when the little one crawled into the adults' bed and made her wet presence known. She figured it would be quick. She did not realize, in her sleepiness, that the diaper was fully and dangerously loaded, and she accidentally dumped the contents.

It was everywhere. Down the side of the changing table and on the rug. I grabbed paper towels and plastic bags, cleaned up as much as I could, and use the carpet cleaner (pet stain formula, of course) to take care of the, um, remains. It's a good thing that I did. The prunes worked and Kouryou-chan was feeling better without being constipated, and although she cried through the whole operation she did fall asleep without complaint soon thereafter, and I was able to finish the job on the carpet, wash my hands and head to bed within a half-hour or so.

Damn, that was gross.

Current Mood: nauseated nauseated
Current Music: silence

Poor, poor Elf! Omaha, too!!!

God, I miss you two!!!! I'm so sorry we fell out of contact with each other.

When I was vet-tech-ing at an animal emergency hospital...parvo was quite prevalent. Finish cleaning up one stinky mess, another began. Poor puppies.

I totally know what you're saying! ;-)

Miss yer cuddles!!!! ;-)

Awwww, poor sweetheart.

I taught 2-yr olds for 6 years and I've cleaned up some pretty nasty shit myself.

{sympathy hugs}
