The illness continues...
Just as the final dregs of the obstructive pulmonary injury caused by pertussis have started to heal, my headcold has chosen to move into my chest. Five weeks of dry, intermitten cough have been relentlessly replaced by constant, hacking cough. It's enough to make a grown Elf cry.

I had hoped to do many things this weekend. There was supposed to be a hiking trip with the bronies this afternoon; I had gardening and winterizing things to do, and I was supposed to go out clubbing this evening. Instead, I'm lying in bed at home with my laptop in my lap, bloving my nose every five minutes.

I'd better be good enough to go out tomorrow. I promised Storm I'd chaperone a fundraiser for her choir's annual fieldtrip. It will suck if I'm not over this by then.

I think I'm going to have some tea.

Current Mood: tired tired

An LMT friend of mine offered to work me over towards the end of my bout with the plague. I couldn't believe how much she managed to loosen up the crud. Granted, I didn't have pertussis, but what I did have was sinus/respiratory gunk that just would not go away. She hit all the major and minor drainage points, then went back and did them all again. At one point I remember feeling stuff rushing from the back of my skull down my throat and through my chest, and suddenly feeling the pressure in my head subsiding. It was amazing. I had minor bruising on my chest and in my armpits the next morning, but totally worth the tradeoff.

Another thing - press hard on the bony part of your nose and rock it back and forth, side to side. That will help somewaht, and you can do it yourself.

If it's with bronies, wouldn't it be "trail riding" rather than "hiking"?
